Urban Pathway Charter School - Pittsburgh, PA

Founded in 1998, the Urban Pathways Charters School serves youth in grades K-3 and 6-12 in the Pittsburgh region. By 2013, we will serve grades K-12. All students who come to UP graduate from UP. And out of last year’s graduating seniors, 100 percent were accepted to college.

History with Entrepreneuring Youth

The Urban Pathways Charter School has been holding a single Entrepreneuring Youth class since 2007.  Entrepreneur education is now offered as a "Pathway" which means it is provided to all 8th graders as an introductory course integrated with a MicroSoft Office class.  Then, as of 9th grade, the entrepreneurial training is offered as an elective.

A team of instructors coordinate entrepreneur education at the school including Dr. Aisha White and Andrew Surmaczi.
