Brownsville Area School District, Brownsville, PA
The Brownsville Area School District is located in the heart of Fayette County, Pennsylvania. It has a rich history of contributing to the nation's commercial development dating back to the Native Americans given that it is located along the National Pike and, in the frontier days, was the "Gateway To The West" for those traveling from the Maryland Area. The Brownsville Area School District spans portions of two counties. In Fayette County, Pennsylvania, it covers the Borough of Brownsville and Brownsville Township, Luzerne Township and Redstone Township. In Washington County, Pennsylvania, it covers the Borough of West Brownsville.
The School district serves 1855 students and added entrepreneurship education to the high school experience in 2009 when Dr. Phillip Savini, became School District Superintendent. Dr. Savini's vision to provide young people with the required skills, knowledge and attributes to successfully contribute to the regional economy and to consider enterprise creation in order to help Brownsville accelerate its economic recovery.
